Companies acting as importers-distributors, exporters or sales agents are taking advantage of the globalization of trade.  These companies often fail to meet conventional relationship asset based lending criteria of banks and factors.  GATEWAY's mission is to provide transaction-based financing to these organizations.  GATEWAY usually does this by opening Letters of Credit on behalf of our clients to international and domestic suppliers.  GATEWAY at client's request may advance cash to pay deposits, freight, duty and warehousing.

Our clients' are typically importers or distributors of finished goods.  Our underwriting criteria is straight forward: Our client must have: 1) competent management, experienced at completing the proposed transactions, 2) reliable supplier(s) who can provide inventory that meets the specifications and delivery dates required by the end buyer, 3) a bona fide purchase order for the inventory from a qualified end-buyer, and 4) a clearly defined repayment mechanism.
